AccordingtotheCentersforDiseaseControlandPreventionanotherpersonhasdiedafterconsumingcucumberslinkedtoamulti-stateSalmonellaoutbreak.TheoutbreakofSalmonellaPoona—whichwasfirstreportedinearlyJulyandarosefromcucumbersgrowninMexicoanddistributedbySanDiego-basedAndrewWilliamsonFreshProduce—hasleftpeoplehospitalizedin35states,accordingtotheCDC.Halfofthoseaffectedarechildren.

根据疾控中心的报告，发生于多个州的、与食用黄瓜有关的沙门菌感染暴发又造成1个死亡病例。本次浦那沙门菌的暴发流行最先开始于今年7月初，原因是食用了种植于墨西哥州、由AndrewWilliamson生鲜铺（总部在圣地亚哥）销售的黄瓜，已经在35州暴发了流行，造成了医院治疗。受害者中的一半都是儿童。
